Coronation Street fans are being pulled in all kinds of directions over what really happened to Lisa Swain’s late wife, Becky.

As those who follow the ITV soap know, Becky died in the line of duty, with it since being revealed that she was also being investigated for corruption at the time of her demise.

Questions about Becky’s death have plagued Lisa in recent months, and it’s already been revealed that the detective sergeant and her girlfriend Carla Connor are set to be taken aback as they’re introduced to Tia Wardley.

Corrie viewers will recall first hearing the woman’s name when earlier this year, when Lisa reluctantly returned to her therapy sessions, while her girlfriend Carla Connor went behind her back and visited Logan Radcliffe in prison.

In a bid to help her partner try and move past the trauma of what happened, Carla visited Logan, who refused to give any information away about Becky unless Carla paid him £10,000.

But just as she started to question whether Logan really knew anything, he reluctantly shared a clue. “Tia Wardley – you can have that one for free,” Logan told Carla. “Anything else, you know the price.”

As she headed back to work, the name was ringing in Carla’s mind so she took to search online, but her efforts proved fruitless and she later revealed to her partner what she had been up to.

It came as Lisa was forced to confront her feelings earlier this year, having been forced into attending therapy sessions by her boss following the death of colleague, PC Craig Tinker, and after making a mistake in the arrest of Brody Michaelis.

By the end of her sessions, Lisa was prepared to believe that maybe she didn’t know Becky as well as she thought and back with girlfriend Carla, decided it was time to put the past behind her.

An engagement has since taken place between the pair and while fans were hopeful of happier times, DI Costello is proving problematic.

Fans are sure Costello has something to hide

Earlier this week, he discovered that Lisa and DC Kit Green were closing in on whatever it is he is hiding and their boss took a mysterious phone call in his office, where he made it clear that Kit appeared to be edging closer to the truth, while also claiming: “I’ll deal with Swain myself.”

While some still believe Becky is alive, others think Costello’s brooding manner has hinted that he was behind Becky’s death and is trying to cover it up.

@EmmaPerry22 replied: “Still a firm believer Becky is dead. Costello had a role in her death and I think Lisa is in serious danger. But I don’t understand why Costello is going after Lisa and not kit when he’s the one investigating. Lisa has left it in the past and moved on so why is he targeting her.”
