second half of Season 5 concluded last week with a polarizing episode (“Life Is a Promise”) that featured new beginnings, emotional farewells, and in classic Yellowstone style, a brutal murder.
With this particular iteration of Yellowstone in our rearview mirror, we look to the future. Paramount Network promoted last week’s final episode as the season finale, not the series finale. What exactly does that mean for streamers who can’t get enough of those quarreling cowboys? Here’s the latest on the future of the franchise.
Is Yellowstone On Tonight?
Nope. The season finale aired Sunday, December 15 on Paramount Network.
Paramount Network Schedule For December 22:
It’s a 1923 kinda night on Paramount Network. The first episode of the series airs at 5:35 p.m. ET, followed by Episode 2 at 6:55 p.m. ET. 1923 Episodes 3 and 4 air at 8:00 p.m. ET and 9:22 p.m. ET, respectively.
Is Yellowstone Over?
Yellowstone? Over? Never!
On December 11, Deadline reported that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser (Beth and Rip) would star in a Yellowstone spinoff series that would “likely feature other cast members from the mothership series.” Additionally, The Madison, a present-day Yellowstone spinoff starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox, and Patrick J. Adams, is currently in production.
The second season of the Yellowstone prequel 1923 premieres February 23 on Paramount+, and yet another prequel series, 1944, has been announced.
