In what fans are calling one of the most haunting Casualty twists in recent memory, Iain Dean — Holby’s action man paramedic — has disappeared without warning, leaving behind nothing but an unanswered radio, an unreturned shift, and a trail of questions that may never be fully answered.

The turning point came during HART training last week, when Iain received a phone call naming him next of kin to his estranged mother Kim, now admitted to hospice with end-stage liver disease.
