Home and Away‘s Cash Newman faces a tough wake-up call next week as his reunion with Eden Fowler hits shaky ground within days.

The popular couple are about to reconcile for the first time in months, but Cash soon realises that it won’t be plain sailing.

Cash abruptly called off his engagement to Eden last year following the tragic death of his sister Felicity.

At the time, a grief-stricken Cash claimed that he was protecting Eden as everyone close to him seems to die.

The Summer Bay policeman later regretted his stance and started to behave obsessively around Eden, which caused chaos for her relationship with Tim Russell.

This week’s episodes on Channel 5 see Cash and Eden agree to get back together despite everything that’s happened between them.

Although Eden knows things won’t be easy, she realises that she simply can’t live without Cash.

In follow-on scenes next week, the excited couple start to share their news. Tane Parata is happy for Cash, but confesses his surprise after everything that he put Eden through.

Eden’s best friend Remi Carter is less enthusiastic, certain that she’s making a terrible mistake by trusting Cash again.

With the mixed reactions hitting home, Cash points out to Eden that they haven’t taken the time to talk about the issues that drove them apart in the first place.

He expresses his desire to get engaged again so everything can go back to how it was before, but a spooked Eden admits that she’s not ready for that.

Cash promises to respect Eden’s boundaries, but later gets carried away again by declaring that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

The emotional cop insists that he needs to know whether Eden feels the same way, but she confesses that she’s simply not ready for that level of commitment yet.

Cash once again promises to back off and take things slowly, but does he mean it this time?
