Coronation Street has cast a familiar soap star face as Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) new romance storyline with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) takes a turn.
Fans of the ITV soap have seen Todd enjoying getting to know the local scaffolder over the last few weeks.
However, he has since been hit by a massive curveball with the news Theo is married to a woman called Danielle.
Danielle was introduced in Monday’s episode and is played by none other than former Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson.
The actress, 43, is best known to soap fans as the Dales’ Alicia Gallagher, who she played between 2010 and 2015.
The beloved character was last seen leaving for Portugal after splitting from her husband David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).
Natalie is no stranger to a soap swap either, as she also appeared in Hollyoaks as DS Lexi Calder between 2021 and 2022.

Away from Soapland, you may also recognise Natalie from her role in Netflix’s Harlan Coben hit Fool Me Once or as a recurring competitions presenter and roving reporter on This Morning.
Little is yet known about how extensive Natalie’s new Coronation Street role will be, but her arrival will prove to be a game-changer for Todd and Theo’s romance.
On Monday’s episode, Todd was stunned when Theo arrived at the undertaker’s with Danielle in tow to arrange her mother’s funeral.

While Todd kept schtum, later Theo admitted he and Danielle have been married for 19 years but he’s known he is gay all of his life.
Todd reluctantly agreed to keep his secret, but is this the end of the road for him and Theo?
