Casualty viewers were left fuming as they were introduced to two new characters in the latest episode, and they were convinced it meant an exit for a fan favourite

Fans of the BBC series Casualty were on tenterhooks tonight as two new characters made their debut on the beloved show.

This evening’s episode was packed with tension as viewers were treated to a fresh instalment. The storyline centred on Dylan (portrayed by Will Beck) and Jodie (played by Anna Chell), where Jodie discovered that Dylan had agreed to mentor her only because her father had requested it.

The drama escalated when their dinner discussion was abruptly cut short by a vehicle ploughing into the eatery. The driver, in a desperate bid to get his pregnant wife to the hospital, could only watch as Dylan was compelled to conduct an emergency C-section right there in the restaurant.

Although the child survived, the mother was not as fortunate; after being whisked away to the hospital, she suffered two heart attacks and sadly passed away, leaving Dylan in shock.

Adding to the night’s upheaval were two new paramedics whose attitudes didn’t go down well with viewers, sparking speculation that they might lead to the departure of another beloved character, reports the Mirror.

Viewers took to social media to express their opinions, with one commenting: “Don’t like these new paramedics, but I didn’t like the nurses when they first started so #Casualty.”

Another fan expressed their annoyance: “Nah those 2 paramedics already doing my head in #Casualty.” Athird viewer remarked: “These two paramedics need to grow up! #casualty.”

“The show’s been crying out for some more paramedics and we get these two? Really #Casualty,” a fourth viewer expressed, with another adding: “Hope two new paramedics starting doesn’t mean one of the regulars is leaving #Casualty.”

Discussing the new series, Will Beck – who portrays Dylan – described it as a “real rollercoaster ride”.

He commented: “The first thing that comes to mind is chaos, it’s a real roller coaster ride. I think particularly for Jodie, it’s a real opportunity for people to get to know her.”

“I think the thing that this box set does, is it goes to an emotional depth. Dylan strangely enough gets caught up in it because of the correlation between the situation that Jodie finds herself in.”
