Casualty star Milo Clarke on future of Teddy’s dark story

Casualty spoilers follow, while this article also contains discussion of sexual assault that some readers may find distressing.

Casualty actor Milo Clarke has revealed where his character Teddy’s dark storyline is going next.

The paramedic was recently sexually assaulted by a hen party while he was trying to do his job, and since then he’s spiralled due to a video of the night being posted online. This week’s episode will see him lash out at a hospital visitor by punching them, which earns him a suspension.

Speaking to TV Times about the storyline, Clarke said: “It sinks in very soon that his job is hanging in the balance… For Teddy, this job is everything. He has always wanted to be a great paramedic, and most of his life and friendships are based around it.

“This is when he realises that big decisions need to be made, and things happen from that…”

Things are set to take a turn towards the positive, although the actor notes that there is a caveat to that.

“I can tell you that he eventually opens up and there’s a shift where Teddy forces himself into a space of trying to put it behind him as much as he can,” Clarke continued.

“But it’s definitely irreversible and irrevocably changed something within him.”

Clarke also added that he’d like to see Teddy rekindle his romance with Jodie at some point, stating that he feels like they work well together.

“Even though they’re both young, they have real care for each other,” he said. “Their relationship has the complexities, passions, and hurts that all real relationships have. I like them together.”
