BBC Casualty fans say the same thing within minutes as new paramedic arrives

Casualty viewers were left praising Indie Jankowski (played by Naomi Wakszlak) as the new student paramedic arrived during Saturday’s episode of the BBC medical drama.

Fans may recognise Indie after she appeared in an episode over Christmas where she initially got off on the wrong foot with Jan (Di Botcher) during training.

However, following an inspiring speech from Jan, trainee Indie demanded she did her placement at Holby, which was agreed.

During the latest instalment (January 11), Indie started her placement and found herself on a horror shift. Following a drive-by shooting, Indie attended to one victim who was concealing a gun.

In a fast thinking move, she managed to convince the man to hand over the gun by stating he could loose his leg if he’s not rushed to hospital.

But, moments later, the buddy paramedic made a tragic discovery as she followed droplets of blood to a young boy suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest and began the battle to save his life.

The shock of the incident left Indie stunned and unable to administer medication before Jan took over. Later in the episode, the young boy’s mum hugged Indie for saving his life following the shooting.

Casualty fans were quick to heap praise on Indie Jankowski (portrayed by Naomi Wakszlak) as the fresh-faced student paramedic made her mark during Saturday’s episode of the BBC medical drama.

Viewers might recall Indie from a festive episode where she initially clashed with Jan (Di Botcher) during training.

But after being inspired by an uplifting talk from Jan, the determined trainee insisted on doing her placement at Holby, which was subsequently approved.

In the latest episode (January 11), Indie embarked on her placement and was immediately thrown into a nightmare shift.

After a drive-by shooting, Indie tended to a victim who was secretly carrying a gun.

With quick thinking, she persuaded the man to surrender the firearm by warning that he could lose his leg if not treated promptly at the hospital, reports Wales Online.

However, the drama escalated when Indie traced blood droplets to a young boy with a gunshot wound to the chest and fought valiantly to save him.

The intensity of the situation left Indie in shock, rendering her unable to give medication until Jan stepped in.

Later, the boy’s mother embraced Indie, thanking her for saving her son’s life after the shooting.
