Barney Walsh issues honest five-word verdict on Bradley as Breaking Dad future confirmed

Barney Walsh has opened up about working closely with his dad, Bradley Walsh. The father-son duo have teamed up on a number of projects, most notably presenting BBC’s Gladiators together. They are known for their popular travel show, Breaking Dad, which follows the duo as they explore different countries across the globe. Despite spending more time with his father than most, the 27-year-old admitted their close bond means they get along like friends.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the BAFTA TV Awards, Barney said: “We actually went through a list of all the things we’ve done and it’s probably about 80 to 100 crazy different activities that we’ve done over the years. I started when I was 19, I’m 27 now so it’s been a long time and we’ve made a lot of memories along the way, but I think there are still more things that we can do.”

When asked about the downside of working with a family member, the Casualty star confessed there isn’t one.

“To be fair, me and dad are mates so there’s nothing hard about working with dad because we get on so well,” he quipped, adding: “He’s great to work with.”

Series six of Breaking Dad recently wrapped up and left viewers hoping another season would be commissioned. Issuing an update on the future of the show, Barney explained that they would love to make more series, but it is not on the cards at the moment due to their busy schedules.

He said: “For now, we’re both focusing on different things. Dad and I are both very busy in our own ways but we’d love to make more in the future, but it just depends.”Bradley Walsh son age: How old is Barney Walsh? | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

Sharing his hopes for series seven, Barney added: “I’d love to go to Australia or New Zealand. There’s so many places that we could go and so many things that we could do and that’s the beauty of the show.”

After the final episode aired last week, fans flocked to social media to express hope that the father-son duo will return for another season.

Taking to X, one user wrote: “Really hope this wasn’t the last series! I really enjoy watching Bradley and Barney’s adventures!! #breakingdad”.

Another penned: “Genuinely hope this isn’t the final episode of #BreakingDad that I’ve watched tonight, this father and son are great to watch together!”

A third added: “Awww hope that isn’t the last series. Such an entertaining show.”
