BBC Casualty viewers are convinced that doctor Rash Masum is set for a new romance with an unexpected colleague

Fans of BBC’s Casualty are predicting a surprise romance for Rash Masum, played by Neet Mohan.

As a well-liked doctor who joined the show in 2017, Rash has been involved in several significant storylines, including the death of his father due to dementia and a plotline surrounding suicide.

In the January 4 episode, Rash’s day began poorly when he encountered new surgeon Sean Redmond, played by Seth Somers. The interaction turned sour after Sean accidentally spilled a hot drink on Rash and dropped his phone.

Rash’s refusal to fix the phone further escalated the tension.

However, an unexpected connection emerged when it was revealed that Rash’s cousin, Tariq Hussein, played by Manpreet Bachu, is friends and flatmates with Sean, reports Wales Online.

Viewers now speculate that Rash and Sean may develop a romantic relationship. On Casualty’s Facebook fan page, one fan wrote: “Rash suddenly turns gay? Taking bets? ” Another observed: “There is some serious tension between him and Sean.”

A third fan concurred, stating: “The new guy and Rash are going to become an item you heard it here first.”

Meanwhile, other fans celebrated as Nicole Piper, played by Sammy T. Dobson, and Ngozi Okoye, played by Adesuwa Oni, finally took their relationship to the next level after two series of developing their friendship.

The simmering tension between Ngozi and Nicole took a dramatic turn in Holby, as Nicole confessed her ‘true’ feelings, fearing that Ngozi was on the cusp of leaving town. The relief was palpable when Ngozi shared she had no plans to depart, leading to an impromptu romantic moment with the pair sealing their feelings with a kiss.

Fans were quick to share their joy online, with one viewer chiming in on X: “I’m glad Ngozi and Nicole finally got together,” while another enthusiastic fan penned: “I love Ngozi and Nicole together.”

Satisfaction with the latest storyline was evident, as a third viewer wrote: “Well that was much better than last week’s episode. Nicole and Ngozi at the end was just the best.”
