Yellowstone Star Jennifer Landon Is The Daughter Of An Iconic TV Legend

While Jennifer plays a Southern badass on TV, that’s far from who she is off-screen. Jennifer actual comes from a Hollywood family and was raised around TV sets since her late father was a small screen star

Actress Jennifer Landon has made a name for herself on Yellowstone as she’s become a breakout star on the series for her portrayal of the feisty character Teeter.

Teeter wears her hair bright pink, and swears like a sailor. Even though her strong Texas accent is so thick that sometimes it’s hard to understand, it’s still amusing to Cole Hauser’s character Rip Wheeler. While Jennifer plays a Southern badass on TV, that’s far from who she is off-screen. Jennifer actual comes from a Hollywood family and was raised around TV sets since her father is late small screen star, Michael Landon.

Being Michael’s daughter enabled her to act on TV beside her dad during her childhood.

Michael’s most notable role was on the long-running series Little House on the Prairie as the character Charles Ingalls. Following Little House on the Prairie, Michael went on to star in the 1980s hit show Highway to Heaven, which Jennifer appeared in when she was a child.

While her mother Cindy didn’t act on Little House on the Prairie like her dad, she was a makeup artist on the set. Jennifer’s parents were married from 1983 to 1991. Michael died from pancreatic cancer in 1991. Jennifer opened up about losing her dad to pancreatic cancer with Pancreatic Cancer Action Netwowk.

“It is devastating beyond comprehension to lose a parent, especially at an early age,” she told the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, per The Daily Mail. “When dad was fighting the disease, Sean was too young to understand. I understood more; I knew if he was doing well or not well on any given day.”

Jennifer continued: “When he passed away, I suddenly saw things differently and questioned everything. Even today I question rules and structure. I can’t say how much his death has affected me, but I know it’s a significant part of the fabric of who I am.”

For many years Jennifer has acted. Before Yellowstone, Jennifer had a role as Gwen Norbeck Munson in the CBS soap opera As the World Turns.
