“I don’t think anyone imagined how big this show would get,” Kelly Reilly says of Yellowstone.
When Town & Country asked about potential sequels, Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, played coy. “When people see the ending of this season, there may be an understanding that there is a new beginning, potentially, as well,” she said in our video interview (watch above). “It could end perfectly where it is, or the new beginning is something that’s intrinsically part of this ending. Both would be beautiful, I have no attachment to either one of them.”
In T&C December 2024/January 2025 cover story, Reilly revealed she is interested in exploring more of Beth. “I am definitely interested in Beth, and who she is after some things have happened. Who is she in peace? As an actor you’re like, ‘Ooh, let me at that,’” she said. “Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”
There could be a Yellowstone season six, or a spinoff of the series. Cole Hauser, who plays Beth’s husband Rip, said he and Reilly would want to continue exploring the stories of their characters. “You can go on forever about these two. There’s no walls when it comes to them, no limits. As long as Taylor wants to write something special, I know Kelly and I would be interested to do it,” he said.
Hauser isn’t the only Yellowstone cast member to express interest in more: Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, said, “We keep saying that if Taylor calls and it’s something he wants to do and it’s something he wants to write, we would absolutely say yes.” So it sounds like the ball is firmly in Taylor Sheridan’s court.
